Serving as the Town of Erwin’s representative in the Steuben County Legislature has been an immensely rewarding and challenging position. When I was elected in 2021, I heard many questions about how Steuben would navigate out of the COVID-19 crisis.

Over the past 4 years, I’ve listened to you and worked with our first responders, law enforcement, public health and community services officers, and business owners to address the problems they face in helping improve our community.

With your help, Erwin has thrived with new businesses opening their doors, investments in our roads and water infrastructure, services aimed to support our aging communities, first responders, and those in need. I’m looking forward to serve our residents for another 4 years to continue the incredible momentum and build on the work we’ve accomplished. I hope that you will support me in the election on June 24, 2025. Let’s keep Erwin and Painted Post moving forward!

Addressing Mental Health, Substance Abuse

Nearly everyone has been impacted by substance addiction or the rise in mental behavioral illness. James has helped build and expand the County’s capabilities to meet the growing demand.

  • Prioritized workforce investment in case work capabilities and resources
  • Launched new prevention campaign for destigmatizing addiction

Advocating for Small Business

Small businesses are the heart of our communities. By supporting them, we fuel local economies, create jobs, and celebrate unique products and services that reflect our culture and values. James is leading the County’s efforts to engage with current and prospective business owners.

  • Created new town hall roundtable series for small retail businesses to communicate directly with legislators and local partner agencies
  • Working to develop new resource pathway for residents interested in starting a business
  • Working to establish a Small Business Advisory Board for Steuben County
  • Increased Property Tax Exemptions for Vetera
